Job Summary
NAMI Tennessee – What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 has blossomed into the nation’s leading voice on mental health. NAMI Tennessee is the state organization of NAMI, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
Position Description – NAMI Tennessee is seeking an organized, creative, and motivated professional to provide leadership in developing, growing, and maintaining NAMI Tennessee’s array of community and peer-led support, education, advocacy, and awareness programs via a team of program staff and NAMI Tennessee affiliate program volunteers. This position will be responsible for establishing processes and systems of data collection and impact and outcomes reporting.
The Director of programs and Outcomes provides leadership in developing and maintaining relationships with the program and all staff and with NAMI Affiliate leaders to facilitate growth for NAMI Tennessee, a 501c3 organization. This will include encouraging strong partnerships with community stakeholders such as donors, law enforcement and correctional officers, family members, peers, mental health providers, TDMHSAS, NAMI Affiliates, schools, and young adult stakeholders. NAMI Tennessee is seeking an organized, creative, and motivated professional to grow and strengthen the organizational capacity of our local NAMI affiliates, expand our capacity to deliver programs across the state and establish impact and outcomes data systems and processes. This person will report to the Executive Director. This is a full-time position based in our Hendersonville, Tennessee offices

Qualifications
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, business, communication, non-profit leadership, or a comparable field
- Non-profit leadership experience
- Knowledge of issues facing individuals living with mental illness and their families
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate excellent judgment and relationship management skills
- Ability to coordinate and conduct training and facilitate large groups
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Experience working with the Board of Directors
- Experience leading community-building initiatives
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Fiscal management skills, including budget management, decision-making, and reporting
- Willingness to learn in areas in which prior knowledge may not exist
- Strong sense of integrity– conviction to work with compassion, honesty, and effectiveness
- Strong knowledge of the mental health field and family experience
- Must pass a background check
