- The Program Coordinator position plays a crucial role in achieving these goals.
Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator works collaboratively with the Executive Director and other staff, board members, volunteers, photographers, and their parents/caregivers to support the mission of AbleVoices and represent its values when interacting with participants and the community. This position is a key link in executing AbleVoices’ four main programs:
- Photography for Self-Expression (virtual and in-person)
- Photography Clubs (virtual and in-person)
- Photo Academy
- Disability Advocacy Projects (I AM DETERMINED, Kindred Stories, etc)
Job Responsibilities
Program Support:
- Planning for Photography Club outings, virtual meetings, as well as other program sessions and events.
- Registering and planning for markets/festivals and other work-based opportunities
- Represent AbleVoices at disability/arts-focused meetings and resource fairs
- Oversee program registration cycle (Fall, Spring, Summer)
- Provide support to our photographers in the office and studio
Program Communications:
- Communication duties include drafting emails, contributing newsletter content, posting to the AbleVoices app, posting to social media accounts, updating the website, and preparing documents such as press releases.
- Communicate via email, phone, and on the AV app with our photographers, parents/caregivers, community organizations, volunteers, board members, program partners, and other supporters.
Program Volunteers:
- Volunteer coordination includes onboarding, recording hours, maintaining relationships, and appreciation (thank yous, etc.)
- Oversee/coordinate Peer Photographers
Program Fundraising:
- Attend special board meetings (for example, event committee monthly meetings)
- Contribute to event planning
- Acknowledge donors and supporters
Program Leadership:
- Meet with the Executive Director weekly to report and receive updates
- Passionate about AbleVoices’ mission and vision
- Intrinsically motivated to contribute to the vision and growth of the org
- Readily bring information from events, meetings, etc. back to the organization to contribute to our ongoing mission-driven efforts.
- Contribute to the visibility of the organization by representing AbleVoices at events.
- Promote AbleVoices for increased participation, volunteering, funding, and collaboration.
- Special projects and other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- Earned a Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- 1+ year of previous experience in an administrative/coordinator role
- Lived disability experience a plus
- Believes in the values of disability inclusion, independence, and self-determination

- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation slide applications (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace).
- Experience with MailChimp, Dropbox, Canva, Flickr, and website maintenance preferred or willing to learn applications in a timely manner.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and priorities effectively and professionally.
- Some moderate lifting (up to 25 pounds) may be required on an occasional basis.

- This is a part-time position, up to 20 hours per week. Our goal is to grow this position to full-time. Evaluation every 6 months. Rate $20/hr.

- Program Assistant (direct service during photography club outings and other sessions)
- Teaching Artist (direct service for in-person photography programming)
- Virtual Photography Club Facilitator (direct service)
- Preference is given to candidates also able to provide direct services.
