Job Summary
As the FLY Girl Champion of Change, you’ll be at the forefront of our mission. You’ll lead and facilitate in-school and community groups, serving as a mentor, advocate, and guide. Your impact will ripple through the lives of our participants, nurturing their personal and collective growth.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Lead S.H.I.N.E. Circles, creating a safe and empowering space for open dialogue and personal development.
- Organize and coordinate engaging activities that align with our participants’ interests and needs.
- Provide unwavering emotional support, fostering an environment where girls feel valued, heard, and understood.
- Serve as a case manager for a group of 10+ girls, identifying their unique challenges and providing tailored assistance.
- Craft workshops and curate content that addresses critical topics and skills, promoting holistic growth.
- Collaborate with the team to design and execute initiatives that align with our mission and resonate with our girls.
- Ensure programs are administered with utmost safety, integrity, and cultural sensitivity.
Other Responsibilities:
- Submit accurate, timely, written reports as needed.
- Aid in or handle special assignments as directed.
- Complete basic administrative work.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- 2+ years of general work experience or equivalent number of hours worked in full-time or volunteer work.
- Must demonstrate awareness and acceptance of cultural differences of clients, staff, and community contacts.
- Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks
- A profound understanding of the experiences and challenges faced by girls of color, drawn from personal experiences or community engagement.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks, timelines, and logistical details.
- While formal education is valued, equivalent life experience is equally significant, reflecting wisdom, empathy, and cultural fluency.
- A natural leader, skilled at guiding and uplifting others, inspiring confidence and positive change.
- Cultural relevance is ingrained in your approach – you’re adept at bridging connections and understanding nuances.
- Exceptional communication skills, from heart-to-heart conversations to dynamic workshop facilitation.
- Valid driver’s license, clear driving record, and current automobile insurance.
Qualifications:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for youth empowerment, mindfulness, and community development.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications. (Training provided)
- Experience working in racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities preferred
