JOB SUMMARY
The position of Hunger Relief Lead Specialist will be under the direction of the Program Manager and will assist with daily operations of Hunger Relief Programming, primarily in a congregate meal setting.
Job Responsibilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regularly assists in supervising volunteer groups of all ages in hunger relief programs.
- Communicates and regularly updates multiple community partners/agencies to best assist guests and clients.
- Greet guests, and collect data around guest numbers, demographics, meals served, and assistance provided.
- Assists with inventory of supplies in all programs.
- Assists with loading and unloading of supplies and food.
- Able to manage all aspects of the daily operations without on-site supervision.
- Ensures food pantry and congregate meal site kitchen and dining room cleanliness and maintenance standards are maintained.
- Maintains accurate client/program records regarding services provided according to Agency guidelines, using the database(s) provided by the agency and within the Agency’s time frame.
- Actively participates in supervision sessions, periodic team meetings, and training as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma with 2 or more years of experience or associate degree.
- Prior experience working with in-crisis populations of various mental health concerns, and economic, ethnic, and racial backgrounds is preferred.
- This position requires flexibility in the schedule. Work is performed at multiple sites. Programming at Holy Name begins at 7:15 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Other locations include the Catholic Pastoral Center, St. Stephen’s Catholic Community, and other locations as program needs evolve.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs repeatedly.
- Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with people across multiple language barriers.
- Skills in Trauma-informed de-escalation
- Must be able to work on a team, but also independently with little direction.
- Ability to use critical thinking to help bring solutions to problems.
- A strong sense of and respect for confidentiality concerning participants and fellow employees.
- Flexibility with work schedule and responding to team and client needs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to learn databases and other systems.
- A current driver’s license is required. Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and provide own transportation.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate with multiple organizations on projects.
