Job Summary
As MOBC grows into the newly constructed building, there is increased capacity to offer in-kind donations to the community. The VISTA In-Kind Donation Process Specialist will be in charge of developing a system for organizing, tracking, and distributing all in-kind donations. They will also oversee community engagement, partnerships, and outreach as it relates to in-kind donations.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop a sustainable process for accepting, organizing, documenting, and distributing in-kind donations, from both agencies and individuals
- Create an organized storage system for all in-kind donations
- Work with MOBC Teams and clients in identifying program and individual needs and focus on in-kind opportunities to address priority needs
- Manage the distribution of supplies and donations to community members and families enrolled in 2-Generation programming
- Partner with the Data & Analytics team to develop a data-tracking system, either using the SalesForce database or Microsoft Suite, to keep up-to-date records on donation intakes and distribution
- Develop relationships and partnerships with outside agencies that could increase the inventory of materials or supplies
- Solicit in-kind donations for programs, operations, events, and special projects as determined on an ongoing basis via phone, email, formal letters/requests, and in-person meetings with a specific focus on budget-relieving outreach
- Provide excellent customer service to families who are receiving supplies from the free store
- Participate in AmeriCorps professional development and community-building workshops
Qualifications
Required
- Over 18 years of age
- High School diploma or GED
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S. (you can see the requirements here)
- Pass a background check to work with vulnerable populations
Preferred:
- Highly organized and great communication skills
- Experience working with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Canva, and other databases
- Experience in non-profit organizations and working with diverse groups of people
- Excellent customer service skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups and doing community outreach
Physical Demands & Accessibility
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to squat, bend, lift, and climb a ladder and/or step stool (regularly)
- Reliable transportation
- Driver’s License
Additional Information
Benefits
- NO time requirement, instead work in a “full-time capacity” for 12 months. At MOBC, full-time capacity depends on the supervisor, role, and week, can be between 32.5-40 hours/week
- 20 days of PTO outside of days that MOBC is closed
- $22,880 living stipend for the 12 months, paid out 2x/month
- Up to $500 housing allowance paid DIRECTLY to landlord/mortgage lender/utility company monthly

- $6,895 education award upon successful completion of service
- Friday weekly community gatherings for the cohort to come together and learn about one another’s programs, participate in professional development or training, and opportunities to lead meetings
- Unlimited access to MOBC’s food bank (often has fresh fruit/veggies, meat, and also what we think of more traditionally in a food bank–canned goods, pasta, beans, etc.)
