Jonathan’s Path is a recognized leader in supporting teens in foster care and those transitioning to independent living. In 2024, we were honored with the Governor’s Excellence Award for Non-Profits in Middle Tennessee, reflecting our commitment to transforming lives. Our current office is in Franklin, TN, with plans to expand to a secondary location in Murfreesboro, TN, in late 2025.

Position Overview
Under the leadership of the Executive Director, the Program Director is responsible for coordinating & managing special programs & advancing the development of Jonathan’s Path through various activities in the community.

As a key leader in the organization, you will represent Jonathan’s Path in the community and work closely with teens, volunteers, and partners to achieve our mission.

Job Responsibilities

Development

  • Serve as the liaison between JP & other partner organizations.  Assign tasks to other volunteers as necessary.
  • Lead all fundraising efforts, donor cultivation, and special events.
  • Identify and cultivate new funding sources, and build relationships with potential donors.
  • Coordinate with grant writer to deliver requited metrics and information needed to secure grant applications and other organizational expectations from entities we receive funding from.
  • Is available for speaking engagements to promote the work and mission of the affiliate.
  • Organize special events & serve as the contact person for events put on for us by other entities.

Program

  • Work in conjunction with the Executive Director to program opportunities and deliver needs to youth in the program.
  • Work with JP youth to guide them through the process and case management. Lead youth engagement initiatives, fostering relationships with teens to provide mentorship and support.
  • Assist in the solicitation of sponsorships.
  • Manage daily operations, program development, and implementation.
  • Serve as the primary contact for program-related activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Administrative

  • Fill in as needed in the absence of the executive director.
  • Send correspondence such as thank you letters to donors, etc. within a 72-hour period.
  • Assist in writing appropriate policies and maintaining an updated Policy & Procedure manual.
  • Manage donor databases and maintain effective communication with supporters.
  • Attend financial meetings with the accountant/bookkeeper to verify spend and funds
  • Oversee aspects of budget management and reporting as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director for regular check-ins and planning.
  • Maintain effective communication with social workers, caseworkers, and community partners.
  • Travel within Middle Tennessee for meetings, events, and youth engagement.
  • Hold a virtual monthly volunteer meeting one evening a month.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Required: Associate degree or 5 years work experience
  • Preferred: Some experience with youth services, foster care, or social work.
  • Case management experience is a plus, not required.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment
  • Six months of public speaking experience
  • Must be extremely organized and possess the ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in computer programs, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Willing to learn NSPS Salesforce
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass background checks and drug tests.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work schedule: 60% remote, 40% in-office or in the field.
  • A minimum of forty hours per week is expected.  The schedule is typically Monday-Friday but must be available for evening and weekend meetings and events.
  • Candidates must have a private home workspace to handle sensitive calls and information.
  • The office is currently located in Franklin, TN, with some travel to the secondary office in Murfreesboro, TN, starting in late 2025.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, hear, and communicate adequately to complete job duties and responsibilities
  • Must be able to see adequately to type, read, file, and use office equipment
  • Ability to distinguish colors
  • Extended sitting, standing, walking, bending, and intermittent lifting of up to 50 pounds
