Job Summary
Seeking highly qualified individuals with experience in education and youth development and a passion for helping today’s youth. Children Are People, Inc. serves at-risk students, in grades K-12. The program provides tutoring in core subjects of Math, Science, and Language Arts. The program operates Monday through Thursday 2-6 p.m. This part-time teaching position will work with students to provide homework help, academic enrichment, character development, life skills, and more.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting students with homework
- Providing directed lessons on subject areas as designated by the CAP curriculum
- Documenting attendance
- Help individual students or groups of students with homework and provide/teach curriculum to bring all students to grade level / exceed grade level.
- Assist with the development of Individual Tutor Plans (ITP) for students.
- Facilitate other activities as needed.
Expectations include:
- Working collaboratively with other members of the teaching team and administration
- Attending staff meetings and parent meetings
- Maintaining professional boundaries at all times
- Gathering and reporting on outcomes as requested by the administration
- Other duties as assigned by the administration
- Follow Children Are People’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- A degree would be preferred but not necessary.
- Ability to be on time and prepared to perform classroom duties.
- Must pass a background check including fingerprinting through the TBI.
