Job Summary

The Center for Living and Learning is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Residential Program. This program provides 24-hour care for adults experiencing mental illness in a therapeutic environment with an emphasis on the highest level of functioning and independent living. Our purpose is to create a restorative environment for these individuals in a community setting by responding to the total range of their needs. A qualified candidate will have the opportunity to manage the care and supervision of eight residents.

Job Responsibilities

Job Description:

  • Oversee and implement the token economy system (a behavioral reinforcement system focusing on ADLs – Activities of Daily Living) 
  • Manage resident finances and personal belongings 
  • Plan, coordinate and execute appointments and community outings
  • Provide individualized training in ADLs to ensure residents’ success with the token economy system
  • Maintain client records, plans of care, and house maintenance in accordance with the TN Department of Mental Health Office of Licensure
  • Conduct fire and safety drills in accordance with the TN Department of Mental Health Office of Licensure
  • Address and resolve residents’ needs in a respectful and compassionate manner 
  • Effectively communicate with residents experiencing active symptoms of mental illness and assist with de-escalation of crises. 
  • Dispense medications daily; record in MARS
  • Collaborate with the Health Manager to ensure direct care staff understand and administer appropriate medical care
  • Record daily progress notes and communicate necessary information with direct care staff and the Residential Manager
  • Organize and document expenditures to the Residential Manager
  • Communicate all maintenance needs to the Residential Manager
  • Check, compose, and respond to emails in a timely manner
  • Manage accessing and uploading documents to Google Drive and add appointments to the Google calendar
  • Attend bi-monthly staff meetings 
  • Attend applicable staff training (biannual meetings, CPR/First Aid training, etc)
