Job Summary

The Manager of Programs & Curriculum provides programmatic development in three ways: 1) facilitating youth fellowship programs, which includes directing, supporting, and training fellows and leading professional development workshops 2) developing and implementing additions to, and new curricular materials that meet mission-focused needs 3) developing and implementing program evaluation tools to ensure learning objectives are met.

  • 25% Program Facilitation and Implementation 

Responsibilities and Duties

The Manager of Programs & Curriculum will design and implement innovative educational programs and curricula that are mission-aligned with Diversity Talks’ organizational goals: 

  • Design, develop, improve, innovate, and implement curricula that align with educational standards and best practices.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in current programs, recommend improvements, and implement necessary changes.
  • Ensure curriculum materials are inclusive, culturally responsive, and accessible to diverse learners.
  • Stay informed of educational policies, regulations, and trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of organizational policies related to education and curriculum.

The Manager of Programs & Curriculum will collaborate with stakeholders, community partners, and staff to enhance the quality and effectiveness of educational offerings and ensure that Diversity Talks’, the participants, and the community’s needs are met through impactful educational programming:

  • Design and implement updated data collection tools for the purpose of ensuring that programming meets organizational goals and needs for content, impact, and quality. 
  • Collect program data consistently, compiling reports used to monitor outcomes and determine the need for improvements. 
  • Utilize in-house software and programs to compile and enter accurate data, and assist in creating compelling reports about the impact of Diversity Talks’ programming efforts.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their instructional practices and curriculum delivery.
  • Work closely with the internal Diversity Talks team to align the curriculum with organizational goals.
  • Engage with community organizations and stakeholders to support program development and outreach initiatives.

The Manager of Programs & Curriculum provides high-quality program delivery through effective collaboration program management, impactful program delivery, and collaboration:

  • Facilitate high-quality and engaging additional programming opportunities for the public using various platforms, including remote/virtual platforms when needed. 
  • Recruit, train, guide, and develop youth facilitators by implementing Diversity Talks’ materials and through the use of preparation and debrief sessions, 1:1 coaching sessions, and empathetic success planning. 
  • Prepare and maintain an inventory of training and workshop materials. 
  • Additional programming implementation and delivery as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in curriculum development, educational program management, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and educational best practices. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Experience with data analysis and program evaluation methodologies. 
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education. 
  • Personal commitment to and passion for working within the diversity, inclusion, and equity space, and in supporting and uplifting youth voices. Strong professional history of leading, facilitating, and/or teaching engaging workshops, training, and more. 
  • Have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build trusting relationships with diverse attendees and participants. 
  • Have proven organizational skills, high attention to detail, and reliable time management. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or the ability to consistently and reliably be present to perform duties at middle Tennessee work locations. 
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 2 weeks of employment

Compensation and Benefits

This position is a full-time, salaried exempt position with bi-weekly direct deposit paychecks. Salary range is $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits for full-time, salaried, and exempt employees include a hybrid work environment, unlimited time-off policy, health and dental benefits, employer-paid life and disability insurance, and a 3% employer match for 401K contributions.
