Position Summary:
Develop and manage operational infrastructure to ensure the sustainability and scalability of RRN strategies and allow the backbone to fulfill its role. Support the alignment of RRN and backbone strategies through evaluation, process development, project management, and effective documentation of collaborative action.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works with the Director, RRN, and community partners to develop a vision and strategic plan for RRN which outlines the strategies, systems, and resources necessary to achieve desired goals
- Supports the alignment of RRN and backbone strategies by creating and documenting standard operating procedures, processes, and workflows, and supporting adherence through group training and one-on-one support.
- Improves the sustainability of the collaborative process by managing the customer relationship management (CRM) system and assisting in the implementation of the annual RRN evaluation plan.
- Works with the Director, RRN to ensure the shared funding allocations process is executed with fidelity, delivers consistent and clear communication, and maintains strong connections and relationships with community partners.
- Oversees and operates within the financial budget for RRN to ensure the financial stability of the work, communicates clearly with backbone and RRN partner teams to keep spending in alignment with budget at both backbone and RRN partner levels, and handles paperwork, documentation, and correspondence related to all expenses.
- Manages contracting process and documentation, including the coordination of requests for proposals, contracts, and signatures, as well as troubleshooting.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with community partners, contractors, vendors, and UWGN staff to advance the work of RRN and other education-related bodies of work.
- Collaboratively organizes team and community events and liaises with external vendors to ensure logistical arrangements, venue coordination, catering, and other necessary preparations are handled smoothly and efficiently.
- Attend and engage in internal United Way staff meetings.
Qualifications
Education:
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in operations management
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience with project management best practices, processes, tools, and protocols.
- Knowledge of and experience in systems building, collective impact, and community-based work.
- Leadership skills and experience, including managing teams, volunteer programs, or community-based initiatives involving different disciplines, experiences, and interests.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and using data to inform planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Experience managing budgets with complex tracking and monitoring income and expenses for a team
- Excellent communication skills, including meeting facilitation, public speaking and presentation skills, and writing skills.
- Experience developing, tracking, and implementing complex strategic plans.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship building with community partners.
- Handle and prioritize multiple activities with flexibility to respond to changing circumstances or priorities.
- Set priorities and support teams in their management of multiple projects and recommend an effective course of action.
- Strong decision-making skills with the use of good judgment in recognizing the scope of authority.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, virtual meeting platforms, digital whiteboards, customer relationship management systems, and project management software.
Physical Demands: Visual acuity, manual dexterity, hearing, driving, standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform their essential duties.
Working Conditions:
- Minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Based on campaign schedules, a position often requires work beyond traditional hours
- Flexible schedule required during special projects and events
- Work involves frequent interaction with other members of the United Way staff, volunteers, representatives of non-profit agencies, and the general public
- Occasional use of personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed)
- The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, and balance.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items work with the fingers and perform repetitive hand/wrist motions.
- Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
