Job Summary

Position Title: Male and/or Female Community Youth Health Educator

Position Type: Regular, Full-Time or Part-Time Work Environment:

This job routinely requires travel to/from partner locations (e.g., schools, churches, and community organizations).

Reports to: Prevention Education Manager

Full-time salary or Part-time position available

Job Responsibilities

Mission:  Hope Clinic for Women is a faith-based, safe, and confidential place for anyone dealing with life choices regarding past, present, and future pregnancies. We provide education, counsel, and medical care for anyone regardless of age, race, or religion.

We are looking for a male and/or female presenter who enjoys being in the classroom, connects with students, and can create a safe environment while discussing sensitive topics. This person has experience with communities impacted by adverse health outcomes, and knowledge about systemic barriers to sexual reproductive health and well-being faced by marginalized communities. This position provides SRAE in schools, churches, residential facilities, and community organizations. Our goal is to prevent teenage pregnancies and STIs by building strong communities and cultivating safe and healthy relationships. This position is on the Relationship Education team as part of the Education Department.

Duties Include:

  • Program Presentation (70%):
  • Present Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) programming ensuring a trained facilitator is present at each program. Program times vary.
  • Program administration (30%):
  • Ensure pre- and post-surveys are completed in all classes.
  • Assist with program development.
  • Assist with program content review and updates.
  • Assist with outreach meetings and tasks.
  • Assist with program setup and execution as needed

Qualifications

  • Teaching/group facilitation experience
  • Experience providing direct education to youth and caregivers
  • Access to reliable transportation; active, unrestricted driver’s license; motor vehicle insurance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 4-year degree or equivalent
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
