Job Summary
Nashville CARES is seeking candidates with a diversity of work and life experience to work collaboratively with our medical clinic to provide integrated behavioral health services within the medical setting. Our goal is to provide holistic, comprehensive services that help patients address their physical health and mental health needs seamlessly. This position works on a multi-disciplinary team with other mental health therapists, doctors, nurses, and others. Job Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
- Work collaboratively with our medical clinic utilizing collaborative care & behavioral health integration models;
- Meet with clinic patients to conduct a range of mental health & substance use screenings, provide brief intervention, and refer to treatment as needed;
- Provide a full range of clinical services on-site, off-site, and via telehealth to include: brief intervention using SBIRT models, mental health and addiction treatment services, biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, individual and couples counseling, group facilitation, & crisis intervention;
- Identify, establish, and/or maintain contact with key social service providers in the community, specific to mental health & addiction treatment, with a focus on linking LGBTQIA+ and HIV+ individuals who are not currently accessing community-based service;
- Prepare and maintain necessary client records and reports in accordance with licensing and accreditation standards, agency policies/procedures, and insurance reimbursement;
- Participate in benefit authorization, utilization review, and/or chart audit process, as requested;
- Participate in weekly individual and group clinical supervision as well as staffing with the medical team.

Qualifications
Required
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related area;
- State of Tennessee unencumbered behavioral health licensure, such as Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or equivalent license per degree – or license eligible within the first 90 days of employment;
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a mental health setting, paid or unpaid (internship experience included);
- Desire to work with LGBTQIA+ population; desire to work in community mental health with populations who have a high prevalence of mental illness, trauma, and substance use;
- Experience working with populations diverse in race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, etc;
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License, vehicle, and automobile liability insurance to facilitate local travel required for client/agency-related business.
Preferred
- LCSW or LCSW-seeking (or equivalent license per degree) preferred
- Two years of clinical or social service experience relating to: HIV/AIDS, co-occurring disorders, substance use, sexual identity issues, grief/loss, trauma, or crisis intervention
- Experience providing behavioral health services utilizing telehealth platforms
- Experience, as a clinician, interfacing with insurance companies
- Bi-lingual abilities preferred
