ABOUT THE POSITION

TIRRC is seeking a part-time Office Coordinator to greet community members, clients, and guests at TIRRC’s headquarters and connect individuals with TIRRC staff for further support when needed. In addition, this position would support the Operations team in maintaining office inventory and supplies to ensure the building is well maintained and help ensure TIRRC’s headquarters is a welcoming and inclusive space. 

Job Responsibilities

Community Hub Front Desk Coordination

  • Greet community members, clients, and guests to TIRRC’s office; 
  • Direct folks in need of resources to call TIRRC’s resource assistance line or in the case of an urgent need, communicate to a TIRRC staff member on call when necessary;
  • Check-in clients for appointments with the Legal team;

Office Administration

  • Collect mail and deliveries and distribute to relevant staff;
  • Perform office tasks including ordering supplies and helping maintain the inventory for overall facilities and staff needs;
  • Ensure free CSA food bags are distributed to members during the summer in partnership with the Organizing and Legal teams.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed above. As with every position at TIRRC, every person in the organization will assist their colleagues to ensure a cooperative environment and respond to the needs of the moment. This job description will be reviewed periodically as duties and responsibilities change with business necessity. 

Qualifications

  • Belief in TIRRC’s mission and commitment to social justice;
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with diverse communities; 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and strong time management;
  • Proficiency in Google Suite or other office productivity tools and systems, with aptitude to learn new software;
  • Fluency in English required and proficiency in a second language commonly spoken by immigrants and refugee communities in Tennessee (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Kurdish) preferred;
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Benefits

WAGE AND BENEFITS:

Hourly Rate: $22/hour for 20 hours/week

Benefits: All employees receive 24/7 access to an Employee Assistance Program. In addition, part-time employees receive paid sick time commensurate with the number of hours worked.
