Job Summary
OBJECTIVES:
The Operations Crew supports the operations team in all activities needed to provide a positive experience for all clients and internal departments. Responsible for the set-up and tear-down of lobbies, meeting spaces, and outdoor areas. This position assists with the maintenance & inventory of equipment & assets used in support of events at The TN Performing Arts Center
Job Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with leaders of Events, Security, Food and Beverage, and Technical Departments to assist with event set up and break down in both front and back of house spaces.
- Set up and breakdown of catering and hospitality areas.
- Accept deliveries and restock food and beverage areas.
- Identify issues occurring at events and notify the Event Manager on Duty. May require assistance with resolving the issue if needed at that time.
- Assist with maintenance and inventory of operational equipment including tables and tablecloths, chairs, stanchions, crowd control barriers, food and beverage inventory, technical equipment, and signage for events.
- Assist with delivery and restocking of printed materials such as programs, brochures, or mailers.
- Occasionally work in a patron-facing capacity and assist patrons with wayfinding throughout the theater
- Work closely with the Education department and escort students into and out of the building for educational performances
The above-listed duties are not all-inclusive. This position expects to perform other work-related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties
Qualifications
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Able to communicate effectively with varying levels of staff as well as outside parties such as artists, vendors, and clients in a positive manner.
- Proactive work ethic with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Demonstrates helpful and cooperative conduct with co-workers.
- Willing to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Eighteen (18) years or older with basic skills in reading and math
SOFTWARE AND SERVICES USED
Microsoft Office Suite, VenueOps, ADP Workforce Now When I Work.
FREQUENT FUNCTIONS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, communicate, and use repetitive motions.
- Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Climbing and working from a ladder.
- Ability to stay alert and focused during long periods of inactivity.
- The working environment includes working indoors and outdoors with moderate to loud noises.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and some holidays. (Monthly shift sign-up available).
