Join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting the mission of Nurses for Newborns of Tennessee (NFN), an organization committed to providing crucial care and support to newborns and their families. As a Development Coordinator, you will play a vital role in facilitating fundraising efforts and ensuring the sustainability and growth of our impactful programs.

Job Responsibilities

Development Support:

  • Collaborate closely with the Development Director and team to strategize and execute fundraising initiatives, including events, appeals, and campaigns.
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising events, ensuring seamless coordination and participation.
  • Maintain the integrity of our development database by accurately documenting constituent information, event attendees, and donations.
  • Work alongside the Accounting Coordinator to reconcile incoming revenue and donations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial systems.
  • Ensure timely acknowledgment of donations and effectively manage memorials and honorariums.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity in handling proprietary information.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to inquiries, visitors, and meeting participants, reflecting our organization’s values.

Grant Writing:

  • Conduct research to identify potential sources of grant support, aligning with NFN’s mission.
  • Review and interpret grant guidelines to determine compatibility with our goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a comprehensive calendar of grant prospect submissions within our database/CRM.
  • Prepare and submit grant letters of intent, applications, and reports under the guidance of the Development Director.
  • Update and maintain our Giving Matters site to showcase NFN’s impact and initiatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • 1-3 years of fundraising/development or related experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in grant writing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and database software in a Mac environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong team player with the capacity to work independently when necessary.
