FiftyForward has an excellent opportunity for a Program Manager at our La Vergne location. This is a full-time position with regular weekday hours. In this role, you will provide leadership in all aspects of member service with a focus on planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and activities that are educational, social, and recreational and encourage total health well-being, and community involvement. The Program Manager ensures programmatic compliance with agency and grantor requirements, oversees instructors and volunteers, maintains the center databases, and ensures the provision of high-quality, dynamic programming for older adults of varying activity levels.
Job Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
- Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational and departmental objectives and ensure goals are reached. Work closely with supervisor in executing overall FiftyForward, center, and program goals.
- Initiate, promote, implement, and evaluate Center activities to offer the highest-quality service to members. Ensure necessary supplies and equipment are in place to accomplish activities.
- Work closely with supervisor and cross-functional teams to develop deliverables, required resources, work plan, and timing for new initiatives. Identify key requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Develop program processes and assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement. Supervise student interns and volunteers.
- Drive, manage, monitor, and report the timely delivery of program results.

Qualifications

Skills
- Demonstrated skills in organization, customer service, and time and task management.
- Ability to actively listen, giving full attention to other people’s needs; takes time to understand the points being made and asks questions as appropriate without interruptions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook (calendar); proficient in database management and maintaining electronic data files and records.
- Ability to shift priorities quickly and unexpectedly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to be flexible and work cooperatively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Must have a deep commitment to our mission and values.
- A valid TN driver’s license including a good motor vehicle record, and appropriate automobile insurance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work recreation services, or related field from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree preferred.
- 1 – 3 years’ professional experience working with older adults.
- 1 – 3 years experience in program planning, marketing, promotion, and/or recruitment.
- 1 – 3 years experience working in a customer/client-focused environment. Program management experience and knowledge of community resources are preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to be trained; maintains knowledge of AED (defibrillator); ServSafe certification or willingness to be trained.
