Job Summary

The Recycle Tennessee Program Assistant will work in collaboration with the Recycle Tennessee Program Director and Recycle Tennessee Program Coordinator on our Recycling Roundup events. This position is located in Nashville, TN, and involves event planning and execution of our Recycling Roundup events.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Recycling Director Program Coordinator and other staff with the implementation of events
  • Interact with vendors, event partners, solid waste directors, and the public
  • Assist with planning and execution of events
  • Secure event materials
  • Running errands as needed
  • Assist with out-of-town events
  • Maintain records and files through Google drive and Google sheets 
  • Additional job duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Flexible schedule and availability to attend all 14 Recycling Roundup events 
  • Professional, punctual, self-motivated, dependable, with a strong work ethic
  • Availability to travel within TN
  • Must be organized, communicative, and able to work independently 
  • Familiar with spreadsheets, Adobe, Canva, and/or comparable software
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in event planning and execution
  • Ability to prioritize, with exceptional time-management skills

Physical Working Conditions:

  • 15% of this position is computer work

Outdoor Working Conditions at Roundup Events:

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to load/unload materials in and out of vehicles
  • You may sit, stand, or drive for long periods of time

Additional Information

Benefits

  • Position: Part-Time Contractor
  • Hours: 10-20 hours a week (Primarily Friday-Tuesday)
  • Benefits: Hybrid work schedule. Bonus structure for working all Roundup events: $500 paid out at the end of the year.
  • Pay Range: Depending on experience, $17.50/hour
  • Working Hours: Some Friday afternoon through Saturday evening (with overnight stays) availability is required for our events, with some availability needed on Mondays and Tuesdays. (Approximately 14 events per year).
