Job Summary
Friends of Mill Ridge Park (“FMRP”) seeks to hire a Community Engagement Coordinator to assist the organization’s efforts to engage the community at Mill Ridge Park in Antioch, Tennessee, and surrounding areas. FMRP is an Antioch-based nonprofit with a mission to enhance and advocate for Mill Ridge Park to strengthen the community in southeast Davidson County. Job Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and implementation of wide-ranging community outreach efforts
- Assist with scheduling, planning, organizing, promoting, and facilitating recreation, conservation, and education activities at Mill Ridge Park
- Recruit, schedule, and supervise volunteers, and administer necessary paperwork
- Promote past/future program activities and organization initiatives, online and in-person
- Present to current and prospective visitors, partners, and volunteers about organization activities
- Collect, report, and process data and documents related to the organization’s operation
- Work a flexible schedule averaging 35 hours per week, including some early mornings, nights, and weekends
- Work in the outdoors under various weather conditions; traverse uneven terrain; walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift 35 lbs on a regular basis
- Maintain a means of personal transportation and communication
Qualifications
- Passion for the mission and shared values with Friends of Mill Ridge Park
- A combination of experience and/or higher education in related fields, such as parks and recreation, education, environment, healthcare, or social services
- Experience leading others and engaging with people of diverse backgrounds with effective oral and written communication skills
- Attention to timeliness and details
- Demonstrated success working collaboratively in support of shared goals
- Able to traverse rugged outdoors while standing, bending, using hand tools, and lifting 35 pounds
- Acceptable background for working with the public, including youth and vulnerable populations
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

Benefits
This exempt, full-time employee works onsite at Mill Ridge Park in Antioch, Tennessee. They report to the Community Engagement Manager and receive an annual salary starting at $42,000 plus a monthly stipend for healthcare and cell phones. Annual paid time off consists of 12.5 holidays; 12 sick days; and 10 vacation days, increasing with tenure.
