Job Summary

Our Community Relations and Development Manager is responsible for managing the fundraising strategy of Greenways for Nashville to meet the revenue goals. Responsibilities include implementation of community and fundraising initiatives and events, ongoing constituent relationship management through cultivation and stewardship, acting as board liaison, and managing fundraising office administration.

Greenways for Nashville (GfN) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise awareness and private support for Nashville’s greenways trails and public open space lands. GfN works in partnership with the Metro Parks Department and the Greenways and Open Space Commission.

Job Responsibilities

Supervised by the Executive Director, the responsibilities include:

  • Support relationship management and cultivation of donors, sponsors, the Board of Directors, and its committees
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director to develop an annual fundraising plan to meet goals and revenue objective
  • Oversee management of donor/member database utilizing the DonorPerfect platform
  • Manage primary fundraisers and committee administration for Dinner by the Bridge, Richland Creek Run, and other smaller events in coordination with Marketing & Community Engagement Manager – who manages the contracted event managers and vendors
  • Advise on the development of event-related marketing collateral
  • Oversee meeting coordination for the Board of Directors, committees, and donor meetings
  • Assist with the submission of grant applications, and writing narratives for funding applications
  • Perform office administrative and organizational tasks as assigned
  • Manage budget line items for specific responsibilities

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relationship management and fundraising experience
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, project, and time management skills; exceptional accuracy and attention to detail; ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly
  •  Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and donor database management
  • A team player and self-starter with a curiosity for knowledge
  • Able and willing to work outside of standard office hours, as required, including weekends and evenings
  • Commitment to the mission of Greenways for Nashville
  • Demonstrated interest in conservation issues and familiarity with Nashville’s greenways and parks system
