Job Summary
Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining the accounts of the Chapter in a manner that is transparent and readily accessible to all members of the Board, keeping the Board fully apprised of the state of the chapter’s investments, for ensuring that all debts are paid in a timely manner, advising the Board on the Chapter’s budget, and maintaining accurate documentation in the appropriate files, both electronic and paper back-up, needed for compliance.
Job Responsibilities

Handle the Chapter assets with high standards and set a tone of integrity.

Manage all the filings (keep a calendar available to the Executive Committee).

Identify and manage risk to all assets.

Confirm contributions, and send them to the appropriate VP for follow-up.

Plan events and evaluate viability with a budget.

Prepare timely financial reports, using Xero

Alongside the entire Board, lead the recruitment of the next treasurer.
Qualifications
The candidate should be willing and capable of learning how to manage financial systems and reporting. A background in accounting, such as being a CPA or having an education in nonprofit management, is a plus but this is not a requirement.
