Job Summary

The Nashville Conflict Resolution Center  (NCRC) seeks to hire a new Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for overall agency management, fund and budget development, reporting compliance, staff supervision, community engagement, and partnership development. The ED reports to and works collaboratively with the Board of Directors to realize the goals of NCRC’s mission and its strategic plan; leads a staff of 7 (FT/PT) and a volunteer pool of 20+; is a liaison with the government, the courts and community partners; and serves as the public promoter of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

The Executive Director’s responsibilities encompass the following areas: 

Operations Oversight

  • Hiring, supervision, and review of all personnel, including payroll staff, contract staff, and volunteers
  • Oversight of contracts, invoices, and deliverables with vendors and professional service providers
  • Physical office and hybrid work needs
  • Supervise insurance coverage and reporting requirements
  • Oversee data system (Salesforce) that contains all program, fundraising, donor, and volunteer information
  • Manage the organization’s Google Suite
  • Oversee access to additional company tech, including licenses for Zoom Pro, DocuSign, Classy, Mailchimp, etc.

Program Oversight and Development

  • Mediation programs provide both in-person and remote services free or on a sliding scale
    • Adult Victim-Offender Mediation
    • Juvenile Victim-Offender Mediation
    • Civil Mediation
    • Parenting Mediation
  • Regular online continuing education programming for mediators, attorneys, and the general public (including applying for and reporting on CLE and CME credit)
  • Provision of TN Rule 31 mediation training (including regular reports to the AOC)
  • Volunteer supervision and mentoring, including the regular updating of volunteer service and continuing education records
  • Consistent program data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure that programmatic effectiveness and funder requirements are met.
  • Regular collaboration with other TN Community Mediation Centers (CMCs) and the ADRC
  • Relationships with TN General Sessions and Juvenile Courts, including current and potential referring partners
  • Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private sector businesses to expand the impact of NCRC’s programs and services

Financial Oversight

  • Creation, oversight, and consistent adjustment of the annual budget (ca. $600,000)
  • Tracking of all revenue and expenditures, via Salesforce and QuickBooks Online
  • Production of financial reports for the Board
  • Supervise state and federal corporate tax filings and annual audit
  • Production of regular financial reports required by grants

Fundraising and Development

  • Consistent fundraising to diversify and increase the annual budget
  • Grant research, preparation, and subsequent reporting for all government and private funders
  • Donor research, development, and stewardship for individuals and corporations
  • Fundraising events, including NCRC’s annual Mediation Matters Breakfast

Marketing and PR

  • Develop and execute PR and marketing strategy
  • Oversee implementation and strategic use of marketing and branding including social media accounts, newsletter production and distribution, and other collateral as needed.
  • Develop relationships with key individuals in local government and courts
  • Cultivate NCRC’s public image

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or other postgraduate degree
  • Mediation experience and familiarity with the TN courts are strongly preferred
  • At least eight years of experience with non-profit fundraising
  • At least eight years of professional experience supervising a team
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex budgets
  • Demonstrated experience with data management and reporting
  • Self-motivated with good organization and communication skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including use of Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Mailchimp, Classy, and QuickBooks
  • Experience with the technology required for a hybrid workplace, including the use of apps like Zoom Pro, DocuSign, and Slack
