Position Overview
The Donor and Communications Coordinator will provide support to the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Director of Community Giving to implement and activate marketing and development strategies to expand the Foundation’s donor and volunteer base and increase awareness of the work of the Library and Foundation.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to create and implement
messages across digital channels - Track engagement metrics to inform data-driven decisions
- Manage constituent audiences
- Create and implement social media campaigns
- Assist with the development and implementation of targeted giving campaigns
- Organize and select images from the media library
- Survey and research strategies for promoting planned giving, advocacy, and donor retention
Website
- Manage website CMS activities and news articles
- Review and report metrics
- Update events calendar
Donor Engagement & Communications
- Implement individual donor stewardship plans
- Project management support
- Oversee digital and print community appeal mailings
- Assist with reviewing and segmenting individual donor lists for appeals
Advocacy
- Collaborate with the Director of Community Giving to execute an advocacy plan to drive community engagement with local government
- Create news updates and communications with NPL Ambassadors
- Support the Director of Community Giving with advocacy meetings and events, including attending Metro Council meetings with NPL Ambassadors
Provide a social media toolkit for NPL Ambassadors
Qualifications
Experience, Abilities, and Skills:
- BA preferred with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an area related to marketing and communications and nonprofit development.
- Exceptional skills in the areas of organization, attention to detail, time management, and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent reading, writing, and grammar skills
- Ability to take initiative with projects to work both independently and collaboratively with staff and volunteers
- Excellent skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, social media platforms, Canva, and MailChimp
- Preferred knowledge of Google Analytics and WordPress
