Job Summary
TIRRC is seeking enthusiastic Deep Canvassing associates to participate in our fall deep canvassing campaign to move conflicted voters to be more supportive of immigrant communities and create a pro-immigrant majority. Associates will be involved in every part of the deep canvassing campaign including participating in door-to-door canvassing to speak with Tennessee residents about immigration, providing insight in script design and story sharing, and prepping materials for large team canvasses. Associates will also assist in the expansion of our deep canvassing volunteer base by participating in volunteer recruitment and training. Associates will serve as leaders in Volunteer Deep Canvasses and Trainings and will have the opportunity to participate in training with the New Conversations Initiative, experts in the deep canvassing and narrative field.

Job Responsibilities
- Attend deep canvassing training sessions;
- Canvass door-to-door with TIRRC in order to learn voter’s opinions on immigration and move conflicted voters to more supportive opinions;
- Assist with training volunteer canvassers;
- Participate in script development;
- Participate in group learnings and debriefs;
- Assist with data entry and tally sheets;
- Assist with turf preparation and canvassing materials;
- Build relationships with volunteers during deep canvassing training.

Qualifications
- Belief in TIRRC’s mission and commitment to social justice;
- Ability to engage in conversation with those who hold differing viewpoints;
- Strong communication skills;
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with diverse communities;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including most weekends during the campaign;
- Fluency in English required;
- Must have reliable transportation.
