Job Summary

Purpose: To assist the lead development officer in securing funds for Nashville Repertory Theatre by providing administrative support for a dynamic, multi-strategy fundraising operation. This is a great entry or early mid-level position for someone pursuing a career in either office administration or nonprofit fundraising.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with individual donor relations and membership programs, including gift management, stewardship, and donor acknowledgments
  • Assist with an annual fundraising campaign, including direct mail and email solicitations
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of special events, including volunteer coordination, ticketing, and auction management
  • Maintain databases of donors, patrons, prospects, and volunteers and manage hard and electronic files pertaining to donors and prospects
  • Assist with foundation and corporate proposals and reporting

This is a forward-facing position, requiring extensive communication with the public in person, via phone, and in email.  Occasional night and weekend work will be required when assisting in events. This position is primarily in-office. 

  • Assist in grants management
  • Support the lead development officer and the executive director in donor stewardship

Qualifications

Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written. You would be responsible for donor acknowledgments, meeting scheduling, etc.  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Typical tasks would include mail merges, donor tracking, etc.
  • Proficient online and navigating apps and software effectively. You’ll be doing online research, assisting in social media development efforts, etc. 
  • Highly organized, process-oriented, and detail-driven. Data entry is a significant part of the role.   
  • Ability to learn specialized software quickly through online training.  We use Tessitura and OneCause for donor management.
